inSITE Mobile FM allows users to inspect structures using electronic forms.
- In the work order list, tap the Inspection tab.

- Tap a work order to select it.
- Tap the Open button.
- If you’ve previously downloaded offline data for the work order, inSITE Mobile allows you to choose whether to open the work order in online or offline mode.

- Select online mode to continuously stream map and asset data, allowing you to move the map outside the work order ambit boundaries;
- Online mode requires a strong wi-fi or mobile data connection.
- Select offline mode to use downloaded map and asset data, which doesn’t require a data connection.
- Quantum Spatial recommends using offline mode whenever possible to ensure reliable performance in areas with inconsistent mobile data signals.
Navigating to Structures
- When you open a work order, inSITE Mobile displays the extent of your downloaded data in the map.
- You can use your mobile device’s GPS antenna and location services, the map interface, or an interactive structure list to locate and work with structures.
Viewing Structures
- inSITE Mobile symbolizes structures in the map based on their current inspection status.
- Tap the expander button
- Tap the Layers tab
- Tap the expander for the Structures layer to view the legend for structure inspection status. For more information about the layers panel, see Viewing Data

In online mode, inSITE Mobile’s map displays all available structure data, including data for structures not included in your current work order. You can view basic attributes for structures not included in your work order, but you can only inspect structures included in the current work order.
- To locate a structure by name:
- Tap the expander button
- Tap the Structures tab to open the interactive structure list.
- Tap any structure in the list to move the map to the structure location and open the structure label.
- To view basic structure attributes:
- Tap a structure icon on the map
- Tap a structure name in the interactive list
- Tap the structure’s info button to open the structure details.

Starting an Inspection
- Tap a structure icon on the map or tap a structure name in the interactive list
- Tap Start Inspection to open the Verify tab and begin a structure inspection. The Inspection option is only available for structures included in the current work order.

Verifying Structure Inventory
The first step in any structure inspection is verifying the basic structure inventory attributes in the inSITE database. inSITE Mobile will automatically populate as much of the structure record as possible with historical data stored in inSITE, but you must confirm that the historical data is accurate and enter any missing information.
inSITE Mobile requires users to verify or enter a minimum set of attributes before proceeding to inspection or maintenance. Required attributes vary depending on the structure type.

- Required Structure Verification Attributes
- Towers: Structure Type
- Concrete Poles: Structure Type, Insulators Material
- Wood Poles: Structure Type, No of Poles, Insulators Material, Height, Class, Year
- Steel Poles: Structure Type, No of Poles, Insulators Material, Height, Class, Year

- Tap the Structure Type menu and tap an option in the list to select the structure type
- For wood or steel poles: select an option from the No of Poles menu to indicate the number of poles in the structure.

- For wood, steel, or concrete poles with crossarms, tap the Crossarms button then select an option from the No of Crossarms menu to indicate the number of crossarms on the structure.

- For wood, steel, or concrete poles with braces, tap the Braces button to indicate the presence of braces.

- For wood, steel, or concrete poles with anchors, tap the Anchors button then select options from the the No of Anchors

- Guying menus to indicate the number of anchors and number of guy-wires attached to the structure.

- For steel or wood poles, select an option from the Height, Class, and Year menus for each pole in the structure.

- Select an option from the Insulators Material menu to indicate the type of insulators on the structure.

- Tap the Distribution Underbuild button to indicate the presence of underbuild conductors.

- Tap the Line Switch button to indicate the presence of a transmission line switch on the structure.

Inspecting Structures
After you’ve verified or entered data for all required values, the Inspection tab will appear at the top of the structure record. If you do not see the Inspection tab, review the Required Structure Verification Attributes table above and ensure that you’ve verified or entered data for each required value.
- Tap the Inspection tab. The top of the inspection tab displays summary information for the current structure inspection. Inspection Status will update depending on the results of the inspection, and Time will update in real time to keep an accurate timestamp for the inspection record.
The inspection menus on the left side of the Inspection tab are context-drive and change depending on the data entered in the Verify tab. For example, the Crossarms inspection menu appears only for structures with crossarms, and the Woodpecker Holes inspection menu appears only for wood poles.
- Tap an inspection menu (e.g., Appearance, Groundline, or Bonding) to show the inspection and maintenance options for the associated structure component.
- Review each inspection menu and tap the appropriate buttons to indicate the need for minor or critical repairs or to reject a structure component.
- After indicating a repair or reject, tap an option in the reason code list to indicate the reason for the repair or reject then tap Done.
- To enter a custom reason code, tap Other Reason in the reason code list, type the custom reason, then tap Done.
- To change the reason code, tap the Reason Code button (page icon), select a new reason, then tap Done.

- If one or more insulators needs attention or repair, select an option from the No of Damaged/Contaminated menu to indicate the number of insulators that need maintenance.

- After inspecting structure components
- Tap the Right of Way and tap the appropriate button to indicate whether the ROW is clear, needs attention, or has a critical issue. If the ROW needs attention or has a critical issue, select an option from the Location of the issue menu to indicate whether the issue is at the structure or on an adjacent span.

- Tap the Property Information menu and enter a name, address, and phone number for the property owner. Tap the Resident Different from Owner button to enter an additional name, address, and phone number for the property resident. If desired, type notes in the Access Note box.

- If an Encroachment exists at the structure location, tap the Encroachments menu then tap the Encroachment switch. Select an option from the Type of Encroachment menu.

Structure Photos
inSITE Mobile FM requires users to upload at least one structure photo before a structure inspection is complete. You must take or attach at least one structure photo before submitting your inspection results.

- Tag the photo to indicate which structure components or inspection details the photo captures.
- Tap Done to attach the photo to your inspection results.

- To review the photos - Tap the Photos tab at any time during a structure inspection
- Tap a photo thumbnail in the Photos tab to enlarge the photo and add or remove photo tags.
- Tap Done to save the changes to the photo tags or tap Back to cancel and return to the Photos tab.

- Tap Done to save the changes to the photo tags
- OR Tap Back to cancel and return to the Photos tab.
- To delete a photo, long press a photo thumbnail in the Photos tab until the photo delete dialog appears.
- Tap Delete to remove the photo from your inspection record
- Tap Cancel to return to the Photos tab.
Completing a Structure Inspection
- After Verification, inspection and you have added a photo Tap Done
- A summary of the inspection will display
- Review the inspection summary and ensure all inventory details are correct and all critical issues, rejected components, needed repairs, and repairs made are documented
- Tap Cancel to return to the Verification or Inspection tab to make corrections
- Tap Submit to complete the structure inspection and proceed to the next structure in your work order.

- inSITE Mobile in online mode - the app will sync your work order with the server each time you submit before returning to the map.
- inSITE Mobile in offline mode -the app will save your results to sync when you return to an area with wi-fi or mobile data connectivity. For more on syncing, see Syncing Work Orders.
