Inspecting Detection Trees

Navigating to Detections

When you open a work order, inSITE Mobile displays the extent of your downloaded data in the map. You can use your mobile device’s GPS antenna and location services or the map interface to locate detections.

Tap a downloaded work order to select it then tap the edit button to open the work order.

Viewing Detections

inSITE Mobile symbolizes detections in the map based on their assigned priority level in a work order. Use the layers widget to view detection symbology. For more information about the layers panel, see Viewing Data.

Detections assigned to you in your current work order display with a bounding box around the detection. As you edit records and change the detection’s status to in-progress, not edited, or saved, the bounding box will disappear. After you complete your inspection for a work order and sync your edited records with inSITE, a checkmark will appear over each detection you inspected.

Editing Detection Records

Tap a detection in the map to edit its record. The edit widget will open and display the Tree tab. You may edit detection records in any order. Tap any tab (Tree, Location, Notification & Permits, or Assets) to edit the corresponding section of the record.

Use the fields and sliders in each tab to enter or edit data in the tree record. Tap a field to enter data using your mobile device’s keyboard. Drag a slider to adjust the value in the corresponding field. Tap any date field to enter a date using your mobile device’s calendar tools.

Available fields and sliders vary according your organization’s inSITE Mobile configuration needs. Any required fields are marked with a *. You must enter values for these fields before saving the detection record.

inSITE Mobile will automatically populate as much of the record as possible with LiDAR and imagery analytics and historical data stored in inSITE. Tap the Populate with LiDAR Results switch in the Tree tab or the Fill-in with Last Input switches in the other edit window tabs to toggle the auto-populate feature. When an auto-populate switch is off, you may override the auto-populated values and enter new data based on field observations.

Tap the camera icon to add a photo to the record using your mobile device’s camera. Tap the gallery button to view existing photos from the record and add or edit photo tags. For more information on attaching photos to inspection records, see Attaching Photos.

When you’re finished editing a tree record, tap the Save button to save your work and proceed to the next detection.

When you complete the inspection process for a work order, tap the Back button to return to the work order list.
